Voting is Open for Chatham-Kent’s Popular Snowplow Naming Contest

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is once again gearing up for the excitement of the third annual snowplow naming contest. This program, which is a partnership with WINMAR, aims to bring together residents in a fun and collaborative way to name our trusty fleet of snowplows.

“The snowplow naming contest is a wonderful example of how our community comes together. It is a great reminder that the fleet is not just cleaning snow, they’re fostering a sense of togetherness, creativity, and pride in our community,” says Edward Soldo, General Manager of Infrastructure & Engineering.

“Let's plow through the winter season with style and community spirit,” says Mayor Darrin Canniff. The 'Name the Snowplow' contest is an opportunity for our residents to leave their mark on the community's snowy landscape, and I can't wait to see the creative names they come up with.”

WINMAR, a dedicated supporter of community initiatives, is thrilled to be a part of the contest for the third consecutive year. David Constancio, emphasized the company’s commitment to giving back, said “At WINMAR, we believe in the power of community engagement. We are honoured to support the snowplow naming contest as it aligns with our values of a safe and fun community.”

Residents can visit the Let's Talk Chatham-Kent link at www.letstalkchatham-kent.ca/name-a-snowplow-2023 and submit a name.

One plow will be named in each of Chatham-Kent’s six wards.

Residents of all ages are encouraged to participate and submit their creative names until November 19, 2023. Final voting on the short list will begin the week of November 27, 2023.
