Committees of Council are groups made up of community members and sometimes Council representatives who work together to provide advice and recommendations on specific issues, projects, or services in Chatham-Kent. These committees give residents an opportunity to share their knowledge, experience, and perspectives, helping Council make informed decisions that reflect the needs and interests of the community.

Encampment Advisory Committee
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent (the “Municipality”) is seeking engaged and knowledgeable individuals to serve on the Encampment Advisory committee tasked with facilitating transparent communication between the municipality and the community at large with regards to any proposed projects for the encampment prior to the submission of reports to council and with due consideration for the impact of the programs to the residential community in balance with the needs of the unhoused.
The committee composition will include equal representation from the following:
- 2 persons who are residents from neighbourhood around the PUC, drawn from the Northside Neighbours Association and residents who have previously lived near a shelter or large encampment
- 2 persons from business owners and/or operators, drawn from the Northside Neighbours Association
- 2 persons from Community groups and persons with lived and living expertise
Applicants are asked to submit their application form highlighting their relevant experience and qualifications. Only selected committee members will be contacted.

Chatham-Kent Food Policy Council
The Chatham-Kent Food Policy Council is to lead in the development of relevant policies and to advocate for our local food system.
There are currently five remaining vacancies on the Food Policy Council. This includes Older Adults Organization (one member), Emergency Food Providers (one member), Education (one member), Grocer/Restaurant/Food Processing/Food Distribution/Purchasing (one member), Youth (one member), and Immigration (one member). Ongoing recruitment will occur until all positions are filled.
