The Housing Stability Program helps people who are housed but at risk of losing their home. Participants work with a Housing Stability Worker (HSW) to set goals and create a plan to maintain their housing. The program works closely with community partners, households, and landlords.
Program Goals
- Help individuals and households stay housed
- Reduce barriers for low‑income households
- Connect people to community services and supports
- Review all income sources and assist with applications (OAS, CPP, GIS, pensions, etc.)
Who the Program Supports
Housing Stability Workers support low‑income individuals and families across Chatham‑Kent who are:
- 18 years or older
- Low‑income or receiving ODSP (if in receipt of Ontario Works, contact your Case Manager for support and/or resources)
- Currently housed but may be experiencing instability
- Living in Private Non‑Profit (PNP) buildings and need help maintaining housing
- Living in Chatham‑Kent
How to Apply
Please submit your completed application, signed and dated, along with all required supporting documentation, to Chatham-Kent Housing Services by email, by mail, or in person. Referrals are reviewed for eligibility within 5 to 7 days. If the program is full, your name may be placed on a waitlist.
