What is a stormwater master plan?

Master plans are long-range plans which integrate infrastructure requirements for existing and future land uses within the Municipality and its communities and guide the planning and development for the Municipality.

The Municipality has undertaken stormwater studies for several communities over the last few years to assess the performance of existing stormwater infrastructure, develop forward-looking strategies and policies that support sustainable growth, and identify and prioritize rehabilitation and new infrastructure required to provide and enhance stormwater management across Chatham-Kent.

Information on these stormwater studies, recommendations, and implementing projects is available below.

Additionally, the Municipality plans to conduct further studies in other communities, and more information on these is also provided below.

The Municipality also has a budget and capital project application, which includes an interactive reporting tool that allows users to explore the Municipal Budget and refer to capital project maps, funding and timelines associated with the Municipality's 2024-2027 capital budget.
