Thames Art Gallery Presents Eye 4 Art 2022

The Juror’s choices are in! The Thames Art Gallery presents Eye for Art 2022.

Guest Juror Scott Everingham, an acclaimed Toronto painter with roots in Chatham-Kent, has selected 71 artworks from the 155 submissions received by the Thames Art Gallery for its biannual Eye 4 Art event. This celebration of creativity, fun and fund-raising will kick off on Friday, November 18, at 6:00 pm at the Chatham Cultural Centre, 75 William Street North, Chatham. Everyone is invited.

After much deliberation, three works have been honoured by Everingham with the Juror’s Awards of Excellence: Ariel Williams, Debbie Packer and Vicki McFarland are this year’s recipients. The People’s Choice Award is yet to be determined as the public will vote for their favourites at the gathering.

In addition to experiencing terrific art, the event also includes gourmet appetizers courtesy of William Street Café, live musical entertainment with Indie sensation “The Universe Featuring Ray”, and a cash bar with a specialty holiday cocktail as part of an entertaining and festive evening.

This year’s event will also feature the much-loved “Brush Off”, a timed painting competition in which 12 artists will have the opportunity to be crowned Eye 4 Art Champion, 2022! Nominate your favourite artist for participation, root them on and vote for the best work in this spectacle of talent. All the works created will be auctioned to the highest bidder as the grand finale of the evening.

The Advisory Committee of the Thames Art Gallery and along with event sponsors Tek Savvy and Windmill Cabinet Shop would like to extend a special thank you to all sponsors of this biennial fundraiser including Langford Law Offices, Cathy Van Raay-Myers, Kelly McGuigan Barristers, Janet and Ray Bernreuter, Chatham Cultural Centre Association (CCCA), William Street Café, Blackburn Media Inc., Impact Graphics & Signs, CM Design & Print and anonymous sponsors.

Enjoy the all-ages art event of the season! Eye 4 Art is a free event, but donations are encouraged. All proceeds will go to ARTspace. ARTspace is a not-for-profit gallery dedicated to the promotion and development of Chatham-Kent artists.
