CK Jobs Hosts Well-Attended Seminar on Apprenticeships

On November 20, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s CK Jobs team hosted Start Your Journey: Navigating Apprenticeships, a seminar designed to explore the process of starting an apprenticeship. The seminar involved showing prospective apprentices how to find and apply for apprenticeships, as well as discussing the different pathways that an apprenticeship can open for future careers.

Approximately 100 people from across Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex attended the seminar, held in partnership with St. Clair College, and hosted at the Retro Suites.

“Through the CK Jobs initiative, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is proud to support individuals who are ready to take the next step in their careers through apprenticeship programs,” said Matt Keech, Program Manager for Employment and Social Service. “This successful partnership event with St. Clair College highlights the incredible opportunities available to those who are interested in a career in the trades.”

There are currently over 140 apprenticeship opportunities available for jobs such as plumbing, developmental service work, electrician, hair stylist and more. For more information on how to get started on an apprenticeship, contact CK Jobs at 519-351-8573 or email ckjobs@chatham-kent.ca
