2025 Chatham-Kent Senior Achievement Awards Call for Nominations

Mayor Darrin Canniff and Chatham-Kent Council are taking an opportunity to thank Chatham-Kent’s older adults and celebrate their achievements during Seniors’ Month in June.

The purpose of the Chatham-Kent Senior Achievement Awards is to recognize and honour older adults aged 60+ that have achieved significant goals and made outstanding contributions as volunteers within Chatham-Kent. Recipients will be honoured as part of the 38th annual Senior Achievement awards. “We are requesting the public’s assistance to identify seniors who are making Chatham-Kent a better place to live,” said Mayor Darrin Canniff. “Everyone knows someone who has lent a helping hand, whether it be as part of a group or as an individual. Here is your chance to let us know about that person so we can recognize their contributions.”

The Senior Achievement Awards are a tradition that goes back to the 1980s. Since that time, more than 1,000 Chatham-Kent seniors have been honoured for their contributions to the community.

Nominations can be submitted on Let’s Talk CK at www.letstalkchatham-kent.ca/chatham-kent-senior-achievement-awards-2025 until Sunday, April 13, 2025. For those without access to a computer, please call 519-360-1998 Ext. 3001 for assistance.

The 2025 Senior of the Year will be announced during the free Aging Well Conference on June 4, 2025, taking place at Hidden Hills Golf and Country Club. To attend, registration is required through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/aging-well-conference-free-tickets-1245380178639?aff=oddtdtcreator.

Mayor Canniff endorses an impartial selection committee that selects the Chatham-Kent Senior of the Year.
