The Thames Art Gallery is pleased to host an exciting night on Friday June 21, 2024, from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm full of special events to celebrate two brand-new exhibits.
In the Main Gallery will be a solo-exhibit Odyssey by Kelly Richardson, an artist who has received international acclaim for her Immersive Video Installations that offer imaginative glimpses of a future that prompt careful consideration of the present.
In the Mezzanine gallery is the Here I Am: Student Exhibition that celebrates the curiosity, passion, techniques. and talent of emerging young creatives in grades 9 – 12 across Chatham-Kent.
The event on June 21 will start with the Chatham Cultural Centre doors opening at 5:30 pm and from 6:00 pm – 6:50 pm in Studio One will be a free artist talk with Kelly Richardson who will be speaking about her art practice virtually from British Colombia.
At 7:00 pm we will move the event to the Thames Art Gallery where guests can explore the two exhibits, vote for their favourite student artwork for Here I AM People’s Choice Awards, and enjoy light refreshments and a cash bar.
At 8:00 pm there will be an award ceremony in the gallery to celebrate the achievements of the high school students, announcing the winners of People’s Choice awards, Awards of Excellence and the Thames Art Gallery Graduating Scholarship, which is graciously donated by Cathy Van Raay-Myers.
We look forward to a fun night of exploring, socializing and celebration.

Thames Art Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and Thursday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
