Man and woman couple standing in front of a vineyardWhere did you grow up?

What was your first job?

Corn detasseling for M and R's Corn Crew. My brother ran it with a good friend so I didn't have much of a choice. That being said, I actually loved every minute of it…singing in the rows, making new summer friends, eating lunch in the open air…I loved everything except for the corn rash that littered my arms.

What is your favourite Chatham-Kent pastime?

Spending the long weekends at Erieau with a good group of friends.

What is your favourite season, and why?

Summer. I love all the fresh produce in the area, going for walks and hikes and hanging out at the local beach communities.

Name an experience that has positively motivated you.

I loved being a part of the musicals at UCC. Those memories hold a special place in my heart.

What did you do after high school?

I moved to Toronto to attend Ryerson University and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Classical Theatre Performance. I worked in the Entertainment Industry for many years and performed globally with Koba Entertainment. I was also in a variety of national television and radio commercials including some for L'Oreal and Much Music. I ran my own performance and visual arts camp for children for 10 years in the Beach Community in Toronto. Afterwards, I attended teachers college at the University of Toronto and taught Drama and Visual Arts for the TCDSB.

What are you doing now?

I am currently teaching at Ursuline College in Chatham. I run a small pop up art studio where I run a variety of creative workshops for kids and adults ( My husband and I also purchased a 7 acre vineyard where we currently reside and we are trying our very best to bring the vines back to life. Our hope is to open Chatham-Kent's second Winery. #blueroofwinery

What is your #1 reason for choosing Chatham-Kent as "home"?

After living in the big city (Toronto), I couldn't wait to slow down the pace and return home to my family and friends. The cost of living in Chatham Kent is also incredible. We purchased a 10 acre lake front property for the same price as our 850 square foot condo in Toronto.
