CK Pride is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led community organization that works collaboratively and responsively to celebrate and support 2SLGBTQIA+ lives in Chatham-Kent. CK Pride fosters a supportive environment grounded in community need, partnership, and organizational capacity. CK Pride envisions an actively engaged Chatham-Kent that is affirming and safe for 2SLGBTQIA+ people. Its work is guided by the values of Accountability, Balance, and Community, shaping how programs are developed, how advocacy is approached, and how community relationships are built.
In 2023, CK Pride opened Bill's Place, a community space in downtown Chatham (48 Centre St.) that serves as a hub for connection, support, and programming aligned with CK Pride's mission. Bill's Place reflects CK Pride's commitment to creating accessible, welcoming spaces where people can gather, access support, and build community together. Programming offered through CK Pride includes practical, community-based supports such as a free food pantry, free gender-affirming clothing, community meals, drop-ins, and social groups. CK Pride also engages in education, advocacy, and community consultations, and hosts a Queer Art Space that provides opportunities for creative expression and visibility. In addition to year-round programming, CK Pride brings community members and allies together each August through Pride Week celebrations, fostering visibility, belonging, and shared community life across Chatham-Kent.
