Volunteering

There are many reasons to volunteer from helping people to gaining new skills and work experiences. Our community has many volunteer roles to fill.

Volunteering is a way to join and give back to community while making new friends. It can help grow your career by gaining work experiences, make work contacts, and build your professional networks.

The United Way of Chatham-Kent works with Volunteer Chatham-Kent and Gigit  and can connect you to volunteer opportunities across the community. Municipality of Chatham-Kent has volunteer opportunities with their Committees of Council and Local Boards.

If you know the organization or event, you want to volunteer for, contact them to ask how to apply for their volunteer roles.

Volunteer roles can include:

  • Teaching, coaching, tutoring or mentoring

  • Event planning

  • Board member

  • Providing administrative assistance

  • Researching

  • Canvassing or fundraising
