Where did you grow up?
Just a few doors down from Tecumseh Park in Chatham
What was your first job?
My first "real" job was working as a Dishwasher at St. Andrew's Residence. I'll never forget the day I started, it was the same day I registered for Grade 9!
What is your favourite Chatham-Kent pastime?
My favourite pastime in C-K is definitely getting outside - walking the dogs, going for a ride on our bikes, visiting a family cottage or just enjoying an afternoon in the backyard.
What is your favourite season?
Summer is definitely my favourite season - I love the sunshine!
Name an experience that has positively motivated you.
A recent experience that has positively motivated me would definitely have to be the birth of our son Boone in 2015. Life changes in the blink of an eye and becoming a parent forced me to slow down, step back and evaluate how I spend my time and energy - at home and at work.
What did you do after high school?
After high school I moved to Hamilton, Ontario to attend McMaster University where I studied Social Work and Gerontology.
What are you doing now?
I've been married to my husband Greg for 4 years and we are raising our 1 1/2 year old son in the same house that I grew up in, which is very special to me. I am currently working as the Executive Director at St. Andrew's Residence and Chatham-Kent Hospice. I am so lucky to work with an amazing group of volunteers and staff, residents and families through both organizations and I truly feel like I have the best job in the world!
What is your #1 reason for choosing Chatham-Kent as “home”?
I chose to return to Chatham-Kent because it was important to me to be near family, I had volunteer and work opportunities that I enjoyed and it is affordable. I know that's more than one reason but really all of those aspects played into my decision.
