Tyler HattonWhere did you grow up?

I grew up in North Buxton, Ontario, until the age of 14, then moved into Chatham.

What was your first job?

My first job was the same as MANY kids in Chatham-Kent… Corn Detasseling!

What is your favourite Chatham-Kent pastime?

That is a tough one, there is so much to do but it’s dependant on the season. For the warmer months, my favourite thing to do would be going on crop tours and checking out the farmers in the fields. During the winter, ice fishing as tobogganing with my kids!

What is your favourite season?

I would have to say my favourite season is end of Summer/Fall and I say that because it seems to be the time Chatham-Kent comes alive. Harvest is in full swing and everywhere you look there seems to be someone in a field, farming.

What did you do after high school?

After high school I attended Fanshawe College and studied Mechanical Engineering. After that, I decided to pursue a career in sales.

What are you doing now?

Currently I work during the day as a salesman at McGrail farm Equipment selling only the best, John Deere farm equipment. Outside of that, I own a small Aerial media company called “Barnyard Aerials’, specializing in aerial photography in agriculture.

Why live in Chatham-Kent?

I would say the best reason to live here in CK is the fact that we have all the amenities of a “big town” but with the small, farm town feel. Everyone seems to know everyone and you can’t find that anywhere else.
