Where did you grow up?

Thamesville

What was your first job?

Fetters restaurant, still my reference for a great panzerotti, thick beef gravy, and so many great soups!

What is your favourite Chatham-Kent pastime?

I enjoy being outdoors with my wife and kids, using our many trails, beaches, parks or simple BBQ in our backyard.

What is your favourite season?

Autumn, I love the great temperature to be outside with all the leaves changing colours on the trees. We have a cottage near Point Pelee while I am not a birder; the migration of all the birds and butterflies is amazing to see each year.

What did you do after high school?

I moved to Windsor to get my degree in Mechanical Engineering. After University, I started my first job at KSR, thinking it was a placeholder until I found something better. I started traveling the world for KSR. I lived in Japan for about 6 month, as well as Korea for similar length of time. The big cities in the Asian countries made me appreciate the local feel of Chatham-Kent.  I settled in Chatham for a number of years for the convenience of the city but without the traffic of a large city.

What are you doing now?

I have now back to my hometown of Thamesville in a new house that my wife and I built.  We are enjoying the small town life and raising our 2 great kids.  I still work KSR in Ridgetown, now the Sensor Engineering Manager reporting directly to the CEO.

Why live in Chatham-Kent?

It is a great place to enjoy life with friends and family and outdoors. CK has most of the conveniences of bigger places, but without the congestion and at a slightly slower pace that let's you take it in and appreciate life, instead of just running between "Instagram moments".
