Jamie RichardsWhere did you grow up?

Blenheim, ON

What was your first job?

In grade 4, I started my first paper route with The Chatham Daily News

What is your favourite Chatham-Kent pastime?

Playing Chatham-Kent’s local golf courses.

What is your favourite season?

I love Fall. It's a beautiful time of year in CK. Living on Lake Erie we are able to enjoy the waves, the turning trees and the great temperatures both day and night.

Name an experience that has positively motivated you.

One of my first experiences as a Doctor of Chiropractic was in Costa Rica where I travelled to take over an existing practice. Shortly after arriving I was robbed and lost my passport, money and most of my clothes. I had to make a decision to pack it in and come home or to stick it out and find a way to make it work. Staying for another 5 months and addressing the challenges that faced me living abroad showed me I could survive in the face of difficult circumstances and more so, the lessons I learned during that time have been central to my current success as a doctor, entrepreneur, husband and father.

What did you do after high school?

I attended McMaster University and attained my Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree while also playing four seasons of varsity football for the Marauders. Afterwards I completed a four year doctorate degree at The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto.

What are you doing now?

Currently I am clinic director at The Life By Design Centre in Blenheim, ON and CEO of Life By Design Inc. I spend most of my time interacting with patients and athletes at the centre, coaching our business clients worldwide or with my wife and family enjoying our life together.

What is your #1 reason for choosing Chatham-Kent as “home”?

As Life By Design inc. grew to more than 25 locations worldwide my dream for a corporate head office started to emerge and CK made sense. The marketplace was in need a world class health centre that focused on proactive living and a healthy lifestyle. Opening The Life By Design Centre in the same town I spent my early years and raising my family in CK was the perfect fit.
