What was your first job?
Boat dock attendant in Erieau.
What is your favourite Chatham-Kent pastime?
My grandparents had a small farm in Charing Cross and, growing up, we used to spend lots of time there. Looking back, it makes me appreciate the little things and allows me to enjoy the freedom that I had when I was young.
What is your favourite season?
Summer. The beaches, the parties, the lifestyle. Life is better in board shorts.
Name an experience that has positively motivated you.
Winning the award for Youth Business of the Year in 2012. It has opened my eyes to the great potential and opportunities in Chatham-Kent.
What did you do after high school?
I received my diploma in Electro-Mechanical Engineering in Ottawa. After that I travelled around the world, working on sailing ships in Australia, surfing throughout Indonesia and chasing the sun.
What are you doing now?
I operate my own seasonal business, teaching people the sport of wakeboarding and waterskiing. I also work full time with Bayside Brewing Company, helping develop craft beer and sharing my passion for Erieau.
Why did you come back to Chatham-Kent?
The great opportunities and potential this area has to offer. I really enjoy the small community mentality, and being involved in the community itself.
