Where did you grow up?

Chatham Ontario

What did you do after high school?

I studied Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier when I left high school. I then got a job at Baxter Healthcare but then moved to London England after about a year. I studied the drums at a music college there and then became a session player, recording and touring with different artists. I became a writing member of the band Vega4 and we went on to release two albums with major labels and toured with artists like Bryan Adams, Snow Patrol and Nickelback.  I helped set up a music school in London called LCCM (London Centre of Contemporary Music) which has become one of Europe's leading music education facilities. I’ve just been listed in the credits of the Queen bio pic “Bohemian Rhapsody” as I worked with the actor Ben Hardy playing drummer Roger Taylor’s part on the film while I was still living in the UK.

What are you doing now?

I have just accepted a position as a Strategic Sourcing Specialist at TransForm SSO, here in Chatham.

What surprised you about your move baCK?

I knew we would have a warm welcome from my family (I have a wife and two sons), but I didn't quite realise how much my friends and family would go out of their way to help us settle in. It's been heart-warming.

What challenges did you face in moving baCK2CK?

Picking up and moving from the UK back to Canada in itself is a pretty daunting challenge. Things like finding work, housing, registering for schools, healthcare for the family etc. are all major things to check off the list.

What has made you happy about your move baCK?

The two main factors in our decision to move back were to spend more time with family and that we felt it would be a much better place to bring our boys up.  We're now within 10 minutes of most of our family, and our boys are having a wonderful time meeting new friends and enjoying places like the Kingston Water Park, Erieau and Rondeau Park.

What advice would you give to someone considering coming baCK2CK?

Do it!  If you have family and friends here, these are the most important things in life.  Chatham is full of opportunities.
