Brian SunnenWhere did you grow up?

Chatham, ON.

What was your first job?

Working as a bus-boy at Smitty’s Family Restaurant at the age of 14.

What is your favourite Chatham-Kent pastime?

I’ve played soccer in the summer for as long as I can remember, and I still do.

What is your favourite season?

Spring. I love all the trees and it isn’t hot yet.

Who was your local inspiration/role model?

David A. McLean. During my high school co-op term at David A. McLean and Associates, Dave was a great mentor and encouraged me (and many others) to pursue Engineering.

What did you do after high school?

I studied Engineering at the University of Waterloo.  After graduation, I lived in France for 6 months, then moved to Denver.  We stayed in Denver for almost seven years before returning to CK.

What are you doing now?

I am Vice President of Guspro Inc.

Why did you come back to Chatham-Kent?

Family.  We have two young children and both sets of grandparents live in the CK area. I also came back to join Guspro, which is a family business.

Why live Chatham-Kent?

  • The size of the community - I get to enjoy the amenities, without the traffic

  • This is a great place to raise kids - I don’t need to worry about their safety, and Kingston Park in Chatham is close to where I live.
