Summer is a great time to hit the beaches of Chatham-Kent, and we have long stretches of sandy shore just waiting for you. The seasonal beach bus is up and running, so take the Beach Bus and have someone else do the driving for you! Water sports in CK are always popular, as our waterways are great for those who enjoy activities such as paddling, jet skiing, and fishing. With rental locations for kayaks and canoes, you don't even have to have your own rquipment to get on the water and enjoy a favourite summer pastime.
As we start to see local boutiques begin to open, be sure to visit our many downtowns in CK. You'll find not only necessities to enjoy a summer day in CK, but unique gifts to bring home as a reminder of your trip or as a gift for someone else.
Another great day out with the family starts and ends at Greenview Aviaries Park and Zoo. Open seven days a week until Thanksgiving, you can get up close and personal with a variety of animals like tigers, lions, cougars, tropical birds and comical monkeys to name a few. Children of all ages are invited to cool off in the splash pad area at no additional cost. Just bring your bathing suit and towel!
