27 August 2021: Our thoughts are with all of the tourism operators impacted by the recent Wheatley explosion. Please note that some tourism sites based in Wheatley, including many businesses and restaurants may not be open at this time until further notice. 

Wheatley is the world's largest fresh water commercial fishing port. There are many fishing charters for you and your family and friends to spend a relaxing day on the water fishing. Anglers can take part in the annual Big Boyz Tournament with thousands of dollars in prizes and bragging rights of the biggest fish caught. On the way to Wheatley, you can enjoy a challenging 18 holes at the beautiful scenic Talbot Trail Golf Club.  

Make sure to stop for a finger licking good meal at Renny's The Village Smokehouse or Taylor Fish Company Fish & Chips. You can grab dessert at iScreams and stroll through town to see its unique charm and large commercial fishing boats at the harbour. Walk the Grant Bowman Trail to snap a pic with the Captain Wheatley statue while viewing the beautiful butterfly garden.

You will love Two Creeks Conservation Area, it offers several different trails to hike and explore. Stay and enjoy live music at the Summer Concert Series from June to September. You can also take the family and enjoy camping at Wheatley Provincial ParkCampers Cove or Holiday Harbour. All locations features gorgeous waterfronts, spacious campsites, fun playground equipment and amazing beaches. You can easily spend days in Wheatley hiking, swimming, and enjoying the scenery.  In August, Wheatley Fish Fest attracts thousands with a street parade, pet parade, kid's fun zone, entertainment, and vendors. Located right on the water, Wheatley is a destination sure to please both fishing enthusiasts and nature lovers in your family.
