Chatham-Kent is home to over 55 trails, including six in Ontario's second-oldest Provincial Park, Rondeau Park. Explore unique landscapes from the ridges and winding water in Clear Creek Forest, to local wood sculptures and views of open water along the South Lakeshore Trail in Mitchell's Bay. You can join local excursions with hiking groups like WalkCK (no programs scheduled for 2020) to learn about local fauna and history, or Friends of Rondeau for night-time Owl Prowls to experience Chatham-Kent from a new perspective. We have over 130km of trails throughout Chatham-Kent, so come prepared to enjoy a day of leisurely hiking with routes for the whole family and space for solo exploring. Check the Chatham-Kent Trails Council website for complete details on trail accessibility and amenities.
If you are looking to explore multiple trails across CK, there are plenty of communities with gas stations along the way to keep you going, and unique pit stops before getting back into nature. Combine your outdoor excursions with corks and kegs, patios, bakeries, ice cream, and foodies day activities to refuel your energy along the way. Don't want to leave those beautiful landscapes? We totally get it. Check out some favourite local spots to picnic and bring your food with you!
