Ride CK's policy on using shopping carts aims to ensure the safety of all passengers.
Riders may bring a shopping cart on Ride CK public transit vehicles
IF the following conditions are satisfied:
- Shopping carts must be of an acceptable size such that they will not pose safety concerns while on the bus.

Small / Compact Foldable Carts (Grocery/Laundry carts, often referred to as a “bundle buggie”) are permitted
UNFOLDED within Transit Buses and have a maximum size of
61 cm x 122 cm.

Large Foldable Carts (Grocery/Laundry) are not permitted unless
FOLDED within Transit Buses.
62 cm x 123 cm or greater, front to back depth.

- Standard metal or plastic grocery store carts generally owned by supermarkets, non-collapsible carts or wagons or are strictly prohibited.
- Riders must be able to board and exit buses in a safe and efficient manner.
- Shopping carts must never block aisles, doorways or emergency exits.
- The owner must maintain full control of the cart at all times; operators will not provide assistance with loading or unloading.
- Riders are encouraged to travel with shopping carts during off-peak hours to ensure there is enough space without inconveniencing other passengers.
- When boarding or alighting a low floor accessible bus, riders may ask the Operator to extend the ramp to ease boarding and exiting.
- Notwithstanding the above, bus drivers and transit operators have the right to refuse any item they deem a safety hazard.
