Changes to Routes 5 and A - Effective July 2nd

Effective Friday, July 2nd there will be changes to Chatham Conventional Route 5 and Inter-Urban Route A. Changes to these routes are the result of public feedback on route scheduling and coverage received over the previous 18 months.

Route 5

Route 5 will increase to 16 daily trips, up from the current 13 trips, with the first trip departing the Downtown Chatham Terminal at 6:15 am and the last trip departing at 6:30 pm, Monday - Saturday, returning to the Terminal at 7:15 pm.

Route 5 will now service McNaughton Avenue West (westbound), between Baldoon Road and Fergie Jenkins Parkway, via the Health and Family Services Building/Courthouse. Route 5 will continue to service Thames Campus via the north entrance to Fergie Jenkins Parkway, before continuing on the usual route.

The following bus stops are impacted:

Route A

Inter-Urban Route A will see changes to its coverage in Wallaceburg. The route will now service Dufferin Avenue (westbound), between Lisgar and Forhan, as well as Elgin Street (eastbound), between Forhan and Lisgar. Service to these areas will be available both on route to Dresden and on route to Chatham. On the return trip to Chatham, the route will also service Nortown Centre on St. Clair Street before heading to Thames Campus via McNaughton Avenue.
