Spring is Here! Plant Your Garden with Seeds from CKPL!

Chatham-Kent Public Library is launching CKPL Grows Seed Libraries at all 11 branch locations on March 20, 2025.  All branches are offering a variety of vegetable, herb and flower seeds for residents to grow.  Since starting the CKPL Grows Seed Library 10 years ago, over 20,000 thousand packages of seeds have been checked out by residents.  Now that growing season is here, don’t miss out!  Visit one of the 11 locations to get seeds for you garden!

What is CKPL Grows Seed Library you ask?  CKPL’s Seed Library provide free seeds for residents to borrow so they can grow healthy gardens, have access to affordable food, and create beautiful spaces in their own backyards and communities.  What do you need to check out seeds from CKPL Grows Seed Library?  All you need is a valid CKPL library card!

Chatham-Kent Public Library is also looking for donation of any variety of seeds for the Seed library.  Residents are also encouraged to save seeds from their gardens this year and donate them to CKPL Grows Seed Libraries to be used again next season.  CKPL Grows Seed Library have been support thus far by generous local growers donating their seeds.
