Read Local: CK Author Festival
The "Read Local: CK Author Festival" will be held at Chatham Branch on Saturday, November 25 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
From 1:00 to 3:00 pm, CKPL will showcase authors who will be available to meet with readers, talk about their writing and sell copies of their books. The Festival's featured authors represent many genres including fiction, non-fiction, children's and young adult. The tentative list of authors includes:

At 3:00 pm, CKPL will welcome keynote speaker and Chatham-Kent author, Susan Cullen, who will discuss her book "The World Collective." Susan will also share about her writing experiences as municipal liaison for the local group of NaNoWriMo. NaNoWriMo is a nonprofit organization that helps people create and achieve their writing goals by providing tools, structure, community and encouragement.

Make a Will Month at Chatham-Kent Public Library
The Ontario Bar Association marks November as "Make a Will Month" each year. This is an opportunity to connect lawyers with their local communities and to raise awareness about the importance of having a will, establishing powers of attorney and estate planning. CKPL will celebrate "Make a Will" Month by hosting a free virtual legal information session presented by lawyer Doug Ferguson in partnership with the Ontario Bar Association.

Learn to Play Mahjong
Ready to try something new? Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) is offering this free 4 sessions Learn to Play Mahjong classes on Wednesday, Nov 29, Dec 6,13, and 20 from 6:00 to 7:00pm in the Chatham branch first floor meeting room.
Mahjong is a fun and challenging game that has been enjoyed by people of all ages for many years. With the help of our knowledgeable instructor Chris, you'll be playing like a pro in no time. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to learn a new skill and meet new people in the process!
Space is limited. Attendance at all 4 sessions is recommended.
Learn to Curl Storytime with Sydenham Curling Club
CKPL's Wallaceburg Branch is excited to announce a special 'Learn to Curl' Storytime in partnership with the Sydenham Curling Club (SCC).
This program will take place at the Sydenham Curling Club, 7379 N River Line in Wallaceburg. An interactive storytime will be followed by an opportunity for kids to learn the basics of curling on the ice with an SCC Little Rocks instructor.
The event will take place Saturday, December 2, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and is directed toward children ages five to eight, but all are welcome. Only children over the age of five, with a signed waiver, will be permitted on the ice. Children who are going on the ice must have clean indoor shoes and a helmet.
Activities will be available for younger siblings or those who do not want to go on the ice.
