Spring a great time of year to venture out and explore all that Chatham-Kent has to offer. It's the time of year when flowers begin to bloom, trails open up, and mud puddles are calling for kids to jump in!
Birding in CK is known to be some of the best available in Ontario. Each spring, thousands of birds pass through the area and there are many great spots to see both rare and common species.
Rondeau Provincial Park offers nearly 8 thousand acres of lush Carolinian forest vegetation and some 360 different species while the 600 acres at
Wheatley Provincial Park feel almost tropical in nature with its wetlands and species. Don't forget about the Blenheim Lagoons or the
St. Clair National Wildlife Centre, where you'll be amazed by the natural world around you. Starting May 1, your day use visits to these Ontario Provincial Parks are free Monday through Thursday until September 2, 2021. You will require a park permit Friday through Sunday.
After you grab your binoculars and hit our many
walking trails or
cycling paths, stop at your favourite bakery or café and grab a delicious beverage or snack. We've got great suggestions on our

A spring picnic is always a great way for your family or social bubble to get out and enjoy the outdoors. We've got so many great

Because Chatham-Kent has a warmer climates in the spring than many other places in Ontario, it's not surprising to see people golfing in March or April. Not all
golf courses in CK open that early, so be sure to call ahead to book your tee time first!
It's also time to switch from an ice auger in your fishing kit to sunscreen. Fishing in the spring is a great time to hit the many bodies of water CK has to offer, whether you head out using one of our many
charter services, or choose to go out on your own to one of our many
popular fishing spots.
