Your drive along the winding roads on Highway 3 and then towards the 401 will take you through the villages of Morpeth, Ridgetown and Highgate, with plentiful views of Lake Erie. The East Kent Trail features nine barn quilts to stop and admire. Along this trail, you will get glimpses into the lives of pioneering families, highlighting sheep farmers, gardeners, millwrights, and Scottish heritage. Stops along the way include one at Greenview Aviaries Park & Zoo or the Crazy 8 Barn for their renowned butter tarts, Shaws Ice Cream and unique shopping. You can also head into Ridgetown to fuel up for the drive, and if you do, a stop at "Home of the Honey Dipped Donut" Pinnell's Bakery is highly recommended.
