The Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre is stepping up their pro-active approach to supporting businesses by offering a series of 12 events over the next several months. The goal of the free events is to help educate and engage with business owners on a wide range of topics. The first session, scheduled for May 12, 2021, is titled “Becoming Digitally Disruptive” and has a focus on digital marketing and how it’s revolutionized the way businesses communicate and connect with consumers.
“Since the start of the year, we have been hearing common themes from business leaders which is why we have put together a schedule of events featuring top experts to meet the needs of the community,” said Jamie Rainbird, Manager of Economic Development. “We know that the pandemic has affected each business differently, and while some are seeing success, others are struggling. That’s where this series of events will come in to help.”
“I also want to thank one of our key partners, Small Business Centres Ontario for stepping up and helping to provide many of these important sessions. The support has been key in ensuring that the local events can be offered,” added Rainbird.
As has become a standard over the past year, the events will be held using a variety of online meeting platforms such as ZOOM.
“Holding the events online is not only the right thing to do right now from a health perspective, it’s also a convenient way for people to attend,” said Matt Reaume, Economic Development Officer. “We have held several events over the past year using this format and they have been well received.”
Upcoming events include:
“There is not a perfect time of the day to hold an event as everyone has busy schedules, which is why we have done our best to offer a selection of dates and times, along with repeating some events when possible,” said Doug Robbins, Economic Development Officer. “Right now we have planned up until October, but we remind people to keep a watch on our website and social media for new events and information being added.”
In addition to this series of events, the Small Business Centre is also working with partners such as WEtech Alliance to offer a session on May 11, 2021 called “Deloitte Global TMT Predictions 2021 with Duncan Stewart”. The event will do a deep dive into tech trends for 2021 and beyond.
