Financing Options

In any stage of business, finding the right source of financing is vital to successful growth and development. The following are a list of financial options available. Before you invest in any property, equipment or staff, contact an Economic Development Officer to see if there are any available grants, funding and support programs available. 


Community Futures Chatham-Kent

Community Futures Chatham-Kent is a one-stop resource for one-on-one business planning, financing, coaching and counselling. They offer business loans ranging between $5,000 and $250,000.

COVID Lending Option

In response to COVID, Community Futures Chatham-Kent provides local small business with loans of $5,000 with rates as low as 0%. This option is available for new and existing clients. Some limitations do apply.

Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC)

The Business Development Bank of Canada is a federal Crown corporation wholly owned by the Government of Canada. Its mandate is to help create and develop Canadian businesses through financing, growth and transition capital, venture capital and advisory services, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. Farm Credit Canada

Farm Credit Canada is an agri-business lender which reports to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
