Comments on incident/response: Chatham-Kent Fire & Rescue responded to a residential structure fire at 83 Talbot Street East in Blenheim, reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. this morning. Fire crews from Station 18 – Blenheim, Station 12 – North Harwich, Station 14 – Erieau, and Station 1 – Command 1 attended the incident. Police and EMS were also on scene to support operations. Firefighters arrived to find a working fire within the residence. Three units were affected. All occupants were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Residents have been displaced as a result of the fire. Victim Services has assisted in ensuring temporary accommodations. The Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) has been notified and is attending. The fire remains under investigation. Estimated damages are approximately $500,000. Police and fire remain on scene.
