Comments on incident/response: Crews from Stations 1 and 2 responded to 99 Mc Naughton Ave West in Chatham for smoke in the halls which was found to be an apartment fire. Two company alarms and an upstaff were called. Crews did a quick knock down of the fire and were able to keep it isolated to one unit on the second floor. Emmanuel Baptist Church opened for evacuees to attend and Staff from Housing Services and Fire Admin attended to assist tenants . Tenants from second floor D block were not able to return to their units tonight. No injuries were reported. OFM will be attending tomorrow morning to conduct investigation, CKPS are holding the scene.
