Local Resources
CKPL has a wealth of local genealogical resources stored in the McKeough Local History Room at the Chatham Branch. More resources are available in the next room at the Ontario Genealogical Society's Kent Branch. Both library staff and OGS volunteers can help you get started and make your family history search a little easier.

Research Services
CKPL offers research services for those who are not able to access the library in person. See our current Schedule of Fees and Fines for the fee for this service. Printing and postage fees also apply. For more information, Ask CKPL!
When submitting an information request, please provide all information you think will be helpful. We are more likely to find useful information for you when your request is for something specific. Wherever possible, try to limit requests to a particular individual, organization, or company and specify the type of record you would like searched (for example, census records, newspapers, directories or cemetery records). So we don't search a resource you've already looked at, please let us know which resources you have already searched and information you have already discovered.
Once you have submitted an information request, our Local History Librarian will contact you with a search timeline, the progress of the search, and final payment information.
