CK LIP Annual Forum was hosted on February 22, 2024, at the Retro Suites Hotel. The Forum showcased recent data pertaining to local immigrant populations and continued efforts to make Chatham-Kent a welcoming community for immigrant newcomers. The Forum featured virtual remarks from the Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism, MPP Michael Ford and MPP Trevor Jones, an opening from Ira Timothy of Eelünaapéewi Lahkéewiit, Delaware Nation, and a presentation from Lisa Lalande, CEO - Century Initiative. The CK LIP chair, Tracy Callaghan, shared local settlement data which demonstrated continued efforts by our partnership towards the Theory of Change framework:
- Prepare newcomers and employers for the labour market
- Increase newcomers' social belonging
- Increase and promote community supports and information
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the evening, to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent's CAO Michael Duben for bringing greetings and emphasizing the importance of immigration in Chatham-Kent and to our CK LIP partners for their continued support.
