Committees of Council are groups made up of community members and sometimes Council representatives who work together to provide advice and recommendations on specific issues, projects, or services in Chatham-Kent. These committees give residents an opportunity to share their knowledge, experience, and perspectives, helping Council make informed decisions that reflect the needs and interests of the community.
Current Committee Opportunities
Election Compliance Audit Committee
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is seeking volunteers to sit on the Election Compliance Audit Committee.
The Committee must be established before the 2026 municipal election voting day of October 26, 2026.
As the Committee will operate as a quasi-judicial committee, prior experience on a committee, task force or tribunal would be an asset.
Ideally, the Committee’s composition would include individuals with knowledge of the campaign financing rules of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
Applicants must complete an
Election Compliance Audit Committee Application Form and may include a brief bio and/or resume highlighting relevant experience and qualifications.

Chatham-Kent Food Policy Council
The Chatham-Kent Food Policy Council is to lead in the development of relevant policies and to advocate for our local food system.
There are currently five remaining vacancies on the Food Policy Council. This includes Older Adults Organization (one member), Emergency Food Providers (one member), Education (one member), Grocer/Restaurant/Food Processing/Food Distribution/Purchasing (one member), Youth (one member), and Immigration (one member). Ongoing recruitment will occur until all positions are filled.
