Ridgetown and Area

You will love visiting Ridgetown for its unique shopping experience with shops like Mocha Violet, Mittons Jewellers, and Lucky Lady Fashions. After shopping, try a delicious lunch at the many restaurants. You can enjoy the Ridgetown Farmer's Market every Saturday morning from June to October to grab local produce, baked goods, flowers, honey and maple syrup. Grab an ice cream from Yeck's The Other Place and hike the beautiful TREES Memorial Trail. If you want a longer hike, take the CASO Trail that is located on the former Canadian Southern Rail Line corridor.

Step back in time at the Ridge House Museum, a restored 1875 Victorian home. Kids will love the Discovery Den at the museum. You will enjoy such annual events as Art in the Park and Festival of Porches and Verandahs both in July and the East Kent Vintage Equipment Show in August. You can go golfing on the beautiful Ridgetown Golf & Curling Club course. In winter, you can return to enjoy a game of curling. 

You can spend an enchanting day exploring Rondeau Provincial Park, hike the many nature trails or take a dip in the fresh, cool waters of Lake Erie. Stay for the whole weekend in the park camping, it will soon become your family's favorite campground. In May, you enjoy the many activities at Festival of Flight to celebrate the annual migration of songbirds. Came back in September to take guided butterfly hikes and activities to send off the monarch butterflies at the Monarch Migration Festival.  Rondeau Bay is a great place for fishing and you can camp at Summer Place Marina and Campground. You can easily spend an afternoon photographing the beautiful lotus ponds at Keith McLean Conservation Land. Complete the perfect day at the bay by watching the sunset while having dinner at Rondeau Joe's patio.

Wildwood by the Lake offers great family camping and make sure to visit their annual Car and Bike Show in July. You can also spend a relaxing day with a picnic on Terrace Beach on Rose Beach Line. Along Talbot Trail, you will love visiting Greenview Aviaries Park and Zoo, with its petting zoo, splash pad, amazing playgrounds and picnic areas it is a day's worth of family fun.
