Specialized Transit Service Information

Ride CK and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is committed to the continuous development of accessible public transit services and the elimination of barriers for those with a disability.

Conventional Transit Accessibility

Ride CK's conventional buses are all fully accessible low-floor vehicles with automatic ramps, space to secure personal mobility devices, and next bus stop announcement systems for those with visual and hearing disabilities. Prior to applying for Specialized Transit, it is encouraged you view the accessibility features available on conventional transit to see if it will meet your specific needs.

Conventional Bus Accessibility Features

Specialized Transit

If your disability cannot be accommodated on conventional transit, Ride CK offers Specialized Transit in Chatham and Wallaceburg. Each service provides pre-booked curb-to-curb trips, alongside other riders, within the urban boundaries of Chatham or Wallaceburg. Specialized Transit is available on an unconditional (permanent), temporary, or conditional basis, depending on the registered user's eligibility. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and eligibility is determined by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
