About
CK Pickleball was founded with a simple mission: to grow the sport of pickleball and create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play, connect, and thrive. What began as a small group of enthusiasts has grown into a vibrant, welcoming community passionate about staying active, learning new skills, and having fun. The club was created to address a growing need for structured play, coaching, and access to facilities in Chatham-Kent — and to build a stronger, more connected community through sport.
Since its inception, CK Pickleball has seen tremendous growth and success:
- Membership Growth: From just a handful of players, the club has grown to include 250 active members ranging from beginners to seasoned competitors.
- Programs for All Ages: We've launched youth clinics, skills nights, summer camps, lessons for every age as well as seniors' sessions to make the sport accessible to everyone.
- Community Events: CK Pickleball has hosted tournaments, socials, and team-building events for local organizations — helping people connect through play.
- Partnerships: We've worked closely with local schools, the municipality, and community partners to improve access to courts and equipment.
- Advocacy: The club has played an important role in advocating for better pickleball infrastructure — including a push for new dedicated courts in Chatham-Kent.
- Recognition: Thanks to strong volunteerism and local support, CK Pickleball has received funding for ball machines and programming to expand opportunities for all players.
CK Pickleball is more than just a sports club — it's a community-builder. Here's why it matters:
- Health & Wellness: We promote physical activity, social interaction, and mental well-being for all ages.
- Inclusivity: Our programs welcome everyone — from kids and teens to retirees and people with physical challenges.
- Youth Engagement: We provide structured, positive outlets for local youth, encouraging teamwork and confidence.
- Community Spirit: By hosting fundraisers, charity events, and inclusive programming, we help strengthen the social fabric of Chatham-Kent.
- Economic Impact: With tournaments and events attracting visitors, we also support local businesses and facilities.
