Hooked On Rugs!

Home Economics: 150 Years of Canadian Hooked Rugs is currently on exhibit at the gallery  from May 15 to June 30, 2019. Did you know at one time cloth was precious? Long hours at the spinning wheel and hand loom produced only enough to provide essentials. Check out this exhibit of Canadian folk art spotlighting rugs from coast to coast. See how the stories in these rugs reflect our collective memories, imagination and where we live. After the tour of all the marvelous textile examples on exhibit in the gallery, try making a rug hooking sample in the studio!
