The Chatham Cultural Centre is an exciting place to discover, learn and laugh.
We provide a variety of engaging programs in art, history, and drama put forward by the Thames Art Gallery, Chatham-Kent Museum, Kiwanis Theatre, Milner Heritage House, and Ridge House Museum.
All field trip programs meet current curriculum guidelines to complement and enhance school programs.

Let us help you plan and create a day of cultural education and creative play for your students. Each program can be geared toward any age group.

The programs listed below travel to schools with the exception of "Fun with Print" and "Black Light Up Your Life".*

Enter the creative zone! Art Maniacs delve into our Imagination Art Stations. Each station explores tons of art materials and cool techniques. Unlock your creativity, turn on your imagination, knock-out amazing artworks! Sharpen your pencils! Dip your brushes! Press roll please, pinch that clay, come and play!
Buddy up and get messy! Roll up your sleeves and join the Mudworks crew for play in the clay. Grab a fistful – squash it, score it, roll it! Learn a few techniques and see what you and your imagination can make!
Fun with Print
Explore and have fun with the endless possibilities of printmaking with plates and a press. Play with printmaking techniques and specialty tools to create multiple prints! Make your own lino stamp from design to carving to printing. Be prepared to make cool patterns and trendy designs.
Make a splatter! Choose your happy medium - watercolour or acrylic? Experimenting with new painting mediums can be fun, colourful, and inspiring. Blank canvases magically turn into glorious pieces of art. Painting abstract, landscape, still life or portrait is fun and easy for all ages. We will guide step by step!

Oh no! You’re trapped in a time machine! Gather clues from ancient civilizations and work together to find your way back to the present. Escape before you run out of time and are trapped forever in the past. When you make it back to the safety of your school, within a few weeks await the delivery of your clay treasure (via your teacher).
The Amazing Race
Can your team beat roadblocks and detours to be the first to the finish line? Solve puzzles, find artifacts, discover new skills, and work together on challenges. Races are happening around CK – take on the challenge at CK Museum, Milner Heritage House or Ridge House Museum.

Imagination Station: Full STEAM Ahead
All aboard! Let us customize our Imagination Station to bring STEAM learning to life. Experience our Giant Lite Brite, sensory walls, and lots more as you roll through activity stations and then engage in free play.
Explore Ancient Egypt
Spend the day in Ancient Egypt – write like a scribe, build pyramids, sift through desert sand to find hidden treasure, and create your own ancient Egyptian inspired fashions. End the day by mummifying a friend and visiting the CK Museum’s real Ancient Egyptian mummy.

Discover what really goes on behind the scenes in museums! Uncover some tricks of the trade like how to handle artifacts and tell their stories. Finish off by creating an exhibition at CK Museum or your school.
Black Light up Your Life
Electrify your reality and change how you the world in this immersive and magical theatre experience. Students will apply movement and art making techniques to a stage design that will be illuminated by black light, and will work with workshop leaders to help shape the content of their collaborative performance. Get ready to move, get ready to create, and get ready to illuminate your view of the world.
