If the event involves the use of:
amusement devices and rides
or anything that entertains people by moving them or causing them to be moved, the organizer must ensure compliance of the operator.
All amusement rides and devices in Ontario must be compliant with the Technical Standards and Safety Act and Amusement Device Regulation 221/01.
The Event Organizer must check the box on The Application form and complete & return:
Additionally, along with The Application form, you will need to work with the supplier to provide the Municipality:
A copy of the Ontario Amusement Device Permit for the current year
A copy of the TSSA Permit for the current year for each amusement device or ride
An additional certificate of insurance from the company providing the amusement rides in an amount not less than two (2) million dollars naming the Municipality of Chatham-Kent as additional insured on the policy for the duration of the event.
As the Event Organizer, you must ensure the amusement company complies with the Ontario Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
