The closure date for the Third Street Bridge has been revised from April 26th to Monday, May 3, 2021, as a result of COVID-related challenges with scheduling sub-contractors. It is not anticipated that this change in the closure date will impact the Spring 2022 completion date.
Commencing Monday, May 3, 2021, the Third Street Bridge will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The navigational clearance for this bridge is 6 m x 3.5 m and every effort will be made to maintain this clearance for safe navigation for the duration of construction.
Construction sites have many potential hazards and extreme caution should be taken by adhering to the safety requirements and staying outside of the construction zones. Detours will be posted to direct traffic around the site, which includes the Lacroix Street and Fifth Street bridges.
CK Transit route detours will be posted on the buses, at the terminal and on the website at www.cktransit.ca
