Municipal Vaccination Policy Numbers

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent implemented a COVID-19 Vaccination Verification and Testing policy on October 1 requiring employees and volunteers to declare their vaccination status no later than October 18.

To date, 86% of employees have provided proof of being fully vaccinated, while another 6% have received their first or second dose. By mid-November, the municipality anticipates more than 95% of employees will be fully vaccinated.

Those not fully vaccinated are now required to regularly submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test in order to attend the worksite.

“We are encouraged by the number of employees who have vaccinated in an effort to do our part to keep one another and those that we serve healthy and safe,” said Cathy Hoffman, GM Corporate Services/Chief Human Resources Officer.

On October 4, Council approved a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Council and Committee Members that are currently being implemented. A separate policy for contractors will be implemented soon.

Visitors and patrons of municipal facilities continue to follow provincial guidelines, some of which are included in the provincial vaccination certification program.
