Municipal Holiday Hours 2022

Municipal offices and most services will be closed December 25-28 and January 1-2, 2023. Open regularly scheduled hours December 29-30, 2022.    

Other services are scheduled as follows:

Cemeteries: Cemetery staff will be on call for funeral homes that require at-need sales.

Ride CK: Services will be closed on December 25, 26, and January 1.

Emergency Services: Police, Fire, and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day, every day, and are accessible by dialling “911” for emergency calls only. The Fire Administration office will be closed on December 26-28 and January 2.

Arts and Culture: CK Tickets Box Office hours at the Chatham Cultural Centre are:

  • Open: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm  December 19 to 23 and December 29 and 30 (closed for lunch hour 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm each day)
  • Closed: December 24- 28, December 31* and January 1 and 2

NOTE: *Evening Box Office is open prior to show time for New Year's Eve event

The Chatham-Kent Museum is closed on December 24 and 25 as well as on December 31 and January 1. The Milner Heritage House and Ridge House Museum are closed from December 24 through January 1.

The Thames Art Gallery and ARTSpace are closed on December 24, 25, 28, 31 and January 1.

Entegrus and Public Utilities Commission: Entegrus will be closed from December 26 – January 1, re-opening on January 2. The emergency call number is 519-352-6300.

Employment and Social Services: Employment & Social Services will be closed on December 26 and 27, reopening on December 28. The office will be closed on Monday, January 2, reopening Tuesday, January 3. The Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628 for homeless emergencies within Chatham-Kent is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Housing Services: Housing Services will be closed on December 26 and 27, reopening on December 28. The office will be closed on Monday, January 2, reopening Tuesday, January 3.

Child Care & Early Years: The Child Care and Early Years office will be closed December 26-28, reopening on December 29. The office will be closed on January 2, reopening on January 3. EarlyON programs will be closed December 26-28, and January 2. Only the Chatham EarlyON Centre location will be open on December 29 and 30, all other EarlyON Centre locations are closed.

CK Public Health: CK Public Health offices will be closed December 26-28 and January 2. Essential after-hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207.

Riverview Gardens: Reception and administrative offices will be closed on December 26, 27,  and January 2. Nursing staff can be reached 24/7 by calling 519-352-4823.

Libraries: All 11 branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will be closed December 24-27, December 31, and January 2.

Provincial Offences Court will be closed December 26-30 and January 2. Regular business hours 8:30 am – 4:30 pm will resume on January 3rd.

If you are under suspension and want to pay your fine, please attend a Service Ontario Office to pay your fine and reinstatement fee.

Pools: The Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be closed on December 24-26, and January 1. Both pools will close at 2:00 pm on December 31.

The holiday schedule is available at Chatham-Kent | Recreational Swimming and runs from December 26 - January 7 (includes free sponsored recreational and parent and tot swims across the two weeks).

Arenas: All arenas are closed December 24 – 26 and January 1. Free skates will take place at the Blenheim, Ridgetown and Dresden on December 31 and at Tilbury arena on January 1. All other arenas are closed.

Waste and Recycling: Curbside garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for the week of December 26th. There are no curbside collection changes for the week of January 2, 2023.

Transfer Stations: The Harwich Transfer Station will be closed December 25-27 and 29, 2022. The Wallaceburg Transfer Station will be closed December 25-26, 2022.  All other Transfer Stations will be open during regular hours.

Leaf & Yard Depots: The Chatham Depot will be closed December 25-26, 2022, and January 2, 2023. The Romney Depot will be open during regular hours.
