Changes in Masking Requirements in Chatham-Kent

The provincial government is ending mask mandates in many settings as of Monday, March 21. As a result, the following policies will be in effect at municipal facilities.

Municipal Service Centres

Visitors to municipal services centres for counter service, including Service Ontario, will no longer require masks.

Chatham-Kent Public Library

Use of masks is not required but is strongly encouraged when visiting all Chatham-Kent Library locations including when attending library programs.  Signage will be posted at all branches. Masks will be available for patrons who request them.

Arena and Halls

There are no masking requirements for arenas or halls. Individuals can choose to wear a mask or not wear a mask. Staff will continue to wear a mask until they are advised of any changes to their requirements to wear masks by the municipality.

Patrons will not be required to wear masks and only be required to passively screen upon entrance to the pools. Signage will be posted requesting that patrons do not enter if experiencing symptoms. Staff will continue wearing masks and following all Covid-19 precautions per our corporate policy.

Cultural Venues

Masks will not be required, however, there will be signage encouraging patrons to wear their masks if they wish to do so. There may be a limited number of masks available for patrons but those who wish to wear masks are encouraged to bring their own.
