Returned traveller-related complaints prompts direct response from Medical Officer of Health

It continues to be brought to CK Public Health’s attention that some residents of Chatham-Kent are not taking the current self-isolation directions seriously.

“I want to make the current restrictions for all travellers returning from outside Canada perfectly clear”, said Dr. David Colby, Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health.
“As of March 17th, anyone returning to Canada from outside of the country in the last  14 days, which would make for a return date of March 3rd or later, must self isolate for 14 days from the day they arrived back into Canada.”

Dr. Colby also directed that anyone who has returned to Canada since March 17th and anyone still trying to get back to Canada must also self-isolate for 14 days from the day of their arrival back into Canada.

“We have an incredibly short window of time to do our best to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Chatham-Kent, explains Dr. Colby. Please take these warnings seriously.”

“Many thanks to those of you who have completed your self-isolation, states Dr. Colby. And to all Chatham-Kent residents, please continue to practice social distancing.”
