Bridge Washing - Communities of Chatham and Wallaceburg

Bridge washing throughout the Municipality of Chatham-Kent continues the week of June 6-10, 2022, with the larger bridges in the Communities of Wallaceburg and Chatham among those to be washed. This is the final week for bridge washing in Chatham-Kent.

Monday June 6, from 8:00am to 4:00pm the Lacroix Street Bridge and the Fifth Street Bridge in the Community of Chatham will be washed. These operations will require single lane closures utilizing traffic control personnel. With the Third Street Bridge under construction, it is important for motorists to follow posted construction signs, and directions from on-site traffic control personnel.

Tuesday June 7 from 8:00am to 12:00pm, the Base Line Bridge in the Community of Wallaceburg will be washed with the use of a single lane closure utilizing traffic control personnel. There will be a short bridge closure to vehicles and pedestrians to open the bridge to access certain areas. There will be minor delays with similar timing as required for bridge openings for boaters.

Wednesday June 8, from 8:00am to 4:00pm, the Murray Street Bridge and Dundas Bridge in the Community of Wallaceburg will be washed. These operations will require a single lane closure, controlled by traffic control personnel.

Thursday June 9, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, the Lord Selkirk Bridge in the Community of Wallaceburg will be completely closed to vehicles and pedestrians for washing. The bridge will be reopened to vehicles and pedestrians after 6:00 pm. Please follow the posted detour.

Friday June 10, from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm, the Keil Drive Bridge (Parry Bridge) in the Community of Chatham will be washed. These operations will require lane closures, so traffic is encouraged to use alternative routes, if possible, to avoid delays.
