The Municipal Clerk's office is responsible for fulfilling and discharging all statutory obligations under the Municipal Act 2001.
The Clerk is responsible for the daily administration of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, including receiving and processing access requests on the behalf of the Municipality, providing advice to administration and helping to ensure that the privacy requirements of the Act are met.

The Clerk is also responsible to administer the day-to-day election activities during the Municipal Election.
Council Administration provides a high level of administrative services to Council. The primary role of Council Administration is to administer the council meeting process from creation of the agenda on to the preparation of the official Council minutes, through to the communication of Council's decisions to the appropriate persons. Council Administration also retains the original Council minutes and by-laws of the Corporation.
Records Management is a government archives and records centre that provides records management including retrieval, storage and disposal of records for the former municipalities and the amalgamated Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
