As a member of CAO - Corporate Initiatives team, the Strategic Planning Coordinator:
- Supports the work of CK Counts for the collection and analysis of census and other source data to:
- Empower community groups, organizations, and businesses within the primary and secondary urban centres in Chatham-Kent to understand and respond to the major challenges facing their community in Chatham-Kent.
- Assist with long range planning and data management for the community and municipal strategic planning area, and change management and priority-setting processes.
- Be a corporate resource to support the needs of multiple municipal departments by providing comparative information to help us departmentally and corporately make improved strategic decisions and resource allocations.
- Helps to create and maintain a continuous and systematic processes whereby municipal and community leaders of Chatham-Kent can make decisions about the future, develop the necessary procedures and operations to achieve that future, and determine how success is to be measured. A visible commitment from top leadership – both administrative and political - is absolutely critical for effective strategic planning.
- Lead/participate in strategic analysis, research and provide advice and issue management on a variety of topics
- Build relationships and represent the CAO’s office and the municipality on a wide variety of complex corporate initiatives, projects and working teams
- Manage various projects, which are CAO (corporate) priorities that have cross-departmental impacts
- Research and prepare reports for Municipal Council, Committees and the Executive Management Team
- Respond to requests from departments and the public for information
