  • Darrin and his wife Christine co-chaired the United Way of Chatham-Kent's annual fundraising campaign in 2006 that raised a recorded $2.4 million

Community Engagement

  • Co Chairing, along with Leon Leclair, the 2018 International Plowing Match being held in Pain Court
  • Introduced Positivity Day in CK
  • Darrin introduced the Festival of Giving to Chatham-Kent 17 years ago. It continues today as one of the most successful one day fundraising events in Canada having raised nearly $3,000,000 for local charities and annually attracts a sell-out crowd of over 1000 people
  • Darrin initiated The Amazing Race Chatham-Kent in 2006 to kick off the annual United Way Campaign. The event raised over $65,000.
  • Darrin introduced The Decathlon and Hallowbash to support and raise funds for the Children's Safety Village and the Acceptional Riders Program at TJ Stables
  • Darrin funded and promoted nine concerts at the Capital Theatre dubbed the Children's Concert Series' in support of the Children's Treatment Centre Foundation which raised over $75,000
  • Darrin and his wife have both acted as Big Brother/Big Sister sponsors in the past and were selected to be the Honorary Big Brothers Big Sisters for the organization in Chatham-Kent in 2010

Awards and Recognition

  • In 2006, Darrin was the recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award presented by the Chatham and District Chamber of Commerce
  • Darrin was one of five employees recognized from across North America to be a recipient of the Spectra Energy Award (Union Gas former parent company) in recognition of their outstanding actions and visionary thinking
  • Darrin and Christine received the Living Faith Award of Distinction in 2007 from the St. Clair Catholic District School Board for their exemplary work and service within the City of Chatham's Catholic schools
