Chatham ranked 9th on U-Haul's List of Canadian Growth Cities in 2020. This is a steady increase from previous years when Chatham ranked 10th in 2019, 11th in 2017, and 13th in 2016 on this same list. Growth Cities are calculated by the net gain of arriving one-way U-Haul trucks over departing one-way U-Haul trucks for a calendar year. With more than 22,000 U-Haul locations across the U.S. and Canada, and using data from over 2 million one-way U-Haul truck rental transactions, the data collected provides a comprehensive overview of where people are moving to.
